Hi all,
Computer crashes are the pits arent they . all that lost
data?
Backing up and saving to floppy or CD helps! but if you forget to back up
*&$%$
, after the fifth or sixth time it happened I nearly threw My computer
through the
window in temper. Being a computer nut I came up with a solution that has
not failed
me yet . so I thought I would pass on to those that would like to try it .
somebody may
have already suggested it , if so ,here it is again.
I have installed a second hard drive as D:\ drive, I then use
Norton Ghost to copy
C:\ drive exactly as a clone over to D:\ drive, now C is set as master and D
as the slave.
When I save any docs or info, I save them strait to d: drive as I go
along and
check that I have done so before I shut down.
Now if my computer crashes I simply swap hard drives by resetting the
slave/master
Jumpers on the hard drives and changing their position on the IDE cable, I
then restart the
Computer and am up and running in about 15 minutes.
Reformat the old C: \ drive and use Norton ghost to clone over again.
Result, no more lost info.
I hope this helps any one who has lots of info to
save.
regards
Terry.
