HI List, sorry i'm just now getting around to posting,
i was gone all day yesterday to Etowah Co. Al. for a
family reunion of part of my maternal grandmother's
line.
i'm in agreement with Martha, i think we all descend
from the the Carden men who came out of Va., mine also
into S.C. and from there into Tn. then some of the
children from Monroe Co. into Polk Co. then mine into
Murray Co. Ga. , later into Alabama ( DeKalb/Etowah
Co.'s) then into Marion Co. , also Escambia Co.
i've always wondered why my Reuben went from Polk Co.
Tn. to Murray Co. Ga., there were Carden's already in
Ga. at that time,.......was that the reason or was it
because his wife was suppose to be native american? my
gg-grandfather born just after the Trail of Tears
around the DuckTown area.
i find it really strange that there are Carden's
buried at Dargin Cem. in Shelby Co. along side my
maternal grandmother's brothers family....Reuben
Campbell, when my grandmother and grandfather's family
came out of DeKalb before moving into Marion Co.
Arthur i received the book in the mail a few days
ago.....thank you so much, you've done a wonderful
job. i haven't had the time but to read over a few
pages just yet, but i've already seem a slight family
resemblence in some of my Carden family men.

I have a couple of questions about all the Carden
families in Alabama.
1- Did they all originate from a single source or
did several Carden
unrelated males migrate at various times to Alabama?
2- Where did the Cardens from Talladega, Chilton,
Coosa and Shelby
originate? Did Carden's living in these counties
originate from a single
source?
