I have found some documents listing Zarrel P. GREEN. PILGREEN makes
sense. Zarrel signed the marriage bond for Larkin CARDEN and Elizabeth
HONEYCUTT. Although it doesn't look like Zarrell. Thanks for telling me
what his real name was.
In the account of your great-grandmother, does she mention any of James
CARDEN and Charity RUTLAND's children other than Jane? Is the account
dated?
I'm trying to submit a DAR application going back to Larkin CARDIN (c1759 -
a 19 Aug 1789). I can't prove the link between Larkin CARDEN (c1808 -
c1862) and James CARDEN/CARDIN. The genealogists at the office won't use
recent books as proof unless there is a citation to original source
documents.
That's where I'm stuck. Trying to find the cites and proof of the link
between Larkin (d. 1862) and his father James (d. 1840).

Thank you.
My sources for Zarrel's surname are (1) an account of her family
written by my great-grandmother, Eudora Lee FULLER (daughter of Mary Ann
PILGREEN and Thomas Leonidas FULLER. Mary Ann was the daughter of Jane
CARDIN and Zarrel PILGREEN.) Surely Eudora would have known her mother's
maiden name! (2) Thomas L. Fuller's WBTS pension application, which
included an affidavit from his brother-in-law PILGREEN (I'm not near my
records right now, so I don't have the first name.) (3) a Logan County, AR
history book that lists Zarrel Pilgreen as the county treasurer for a few
years.
Fortunately, I bought Chuck's CARDEN in America at the Carden reunion
in Virginia last year. It is good.
