Hi Elisa,
How has your summer been going? It's been a real 'scorcher' down here -
almost no rain and over 75 days of over 90 degrees. The peanuts, corn,
hay grass, etc. are drying up ! Have y'all had it any better so far?
Thanks for your answer about John C. Carden.
The name John C. Carden made me think that this was your group, esp.
when Judson mentioned Reuben & Robert... but that's names in my line
too, so I didn't know. Now I remember that he's the one who had his
y-DNA done. Further on in his note, he mentioned this to Emmett Carden
(cousin of my line, recently found), but I still hadn't exactly 'placed'
Judson as yet <DUH> ! Now I do.
So, was Judson's GGF the bro. of your GGF Carden, or ...? You can tell
that I need a refresher course on your line <s> ! He thinks that we're
not 'connected', but that may all change when Emmett's test results come
back in a couple of months.
BTW, Emmett Carden lives in the Mobile, AL area as well and is getting
ready to take the y-DNA test himself. He's the first in our Carden line
men (that we know of) to have the testing done. We're on 'pins &
needles' wondering how it will come out !!! Will let you and the list
know when that result is in.
Take Care, Martha

Hi All,
Here's another Carden in AL whom I'd never met before. His name is
Judson Carden and he lives near Mobile, AL.
His note said:
"I am related to the Carden's at Pollard (AL). My Gr-GF Ruben Carden and
his brother Robert came to Pollard (AL) in the 1920's. Their father (my
2Gr-GF) was John C. Carden. He was in the 22nd Georgia Infantry, and was
captured at the battle of Gettysburg."
Do any of you know this line and where it might've come from bf/ GA?
All help appreciated, Martha
