Good Morning, Listers,
Here are a couple of more geographical items bearing the Carden
name. While driving through Arkansas, a few years ago, we crossed a
creek named "Carden Branch," which was a tributary to Nimrod Lake, just
north of Hot Springs, and we stopped for a picnic lunch at a park beside
that lake which, as I recall, was named "Carden Point Recreation Area."
My Carden ancestors were from a little further north, in the Pea Ridge
area of northwest Arkansas, so these places may have been associated with
another branch of the "clan."
My line goes back to Thomas L. Carden, son of Robert F. Carden,
son of Robert Carden, Sr., who settled in Pea Ridge in the 1840's.
I would also vote for a gathering at the Carden Point in the
Caribbean, as opposed to Carden Point Recreation Area in central
Arkansas!
Your cousin in Tyler,
Clair Carden
