The info I have is from Branch Jackson Carden, Jr. via Nils Haag. I have a Robert Carden V
(1723-1810), second wife Elizabeth Roberts (1760-1810)who are the ancestors to Robert
Glenn Carden in Alabama. They had Robert, Dicey, Judith, Elizabeth, Larkin, Leonard
1793-1857 (married #1 Tabitha Peace). Is this your line?
I am descended from (John I 1555, John II, Robert I, Robert II, Robert III) Robert IV
(first wife unknown), James m. Sarah DePriest, John (mill owner in Halifax County, VA,
John Calvin, Warner Calvin, Robert Judson Carden-my dad. On Cook Family Tree the two first
Johns have wives named; just don't have it on my info as yet. Nils also has our line
posted on Rootsweb and Ancestry, but he didn't get to put in all my info. My John
(1802-1864), mill owner, was the youngest brother to Branch and Nils' ancestor Robert
DePriest Carden m Jenny Howery. They lived in the Roanoke/Radford area in Western VA.
Nils and some others are of a difference of opinion on the James, son of Robert IV and
first wife. Nils presented his reasoning in another website, and I have to agree with him,
especially since many of the descendents have the middle name DePriest. John, mill owner,
had a son, Charles DePriest Carden from Halifax County, Va. Hope this helps.
