William Thomas Kirkland homesteaded 320 acres of land in Dilo, Garfield
County, MT., under the name of Cardin. It was filed 17 Dec 1918 and
residence was established 1 May 1919.
In 1923 a log house 14x42 was constructed, a log barn 16x36, a 12x14 granary
and chicken house, 16x18 sheep house. 80 acres were fenced, also a well and
reservoir. Value of improvements was $1000. He received land on 20 Mar 1924.
Land was put on a tax deed 1 July 1936. Taxes delinquent since 28 Dec 1929.
