Thanks to whoever posted that link. I've taken one more tiny step in my
never-ending search for Jasper Floyd Carden. I found that in the 1860
census he was living with his (first) wife Anna and their children in
Hamilton County, Tennnessee. He was listed as 31 years of age. It says
he was born in TN. Did any of your Cardens live in that area around that
time?
