Hi, Mayo/Sligo Cardens, ref my posting of May 8 -
I have had a lovely chatty reply from Bud Burge to which I shall reply
direct soon, but must confess I am disappointed at the rest of you. Perhaps
you are all on holiday. I would have thought you Mayo/Sligo Cardens would
be as keen as anything to jump on a plane to the Emerald Isle, the excuse
being the Genealogy Festival in Sligo town at the end of September. Come
on, folks! At least send me your excuses!
The prospectus is now available at
www.Irelandfestival.com
You will see that for individuals booking before 16 July the price is
$300 or £125. Discounts for couples or groups (minimum 8 people - yes?).
You find your own accommodation. You might decide to go to join other
Cardens, but without attending the Festival promgramme.
I'll let you know as soon as someone tells me they are probably going, and
will then start to inform those of you who are not on the net.
Malcolm Carden of the Mile End (London) branch, who now lives in California,
is a new, and to me at least, very surprising, recruit to the Mayo/Sligo
branch, as his DNA matches Terry and Fred closely. He is upgrading to 25
markers as a double-check.
