Hi listers.
Perhaps you all know about Filby, but here is something which appeared in a
recent UK genealogical magazine -
"Most of the records pertaining to immigration [to America] are indexed in
Filby. William P Filby and others publish an on-going index of published
arrival records, including Canada. The official title is: Passenger and
immigration lists index: a guide to published arrival records of about
500,000 passengers who came to the United States and Canada in the
seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Additional supplements
appear several times a year. In addition Filby is now available on CD. You
purchase the main edition and then periodically additional supplement CDs."
Do you all know about Filby? I didn't (I only knew about "Famine
Immigrants"
and miscellaneous short listings for individual ports). Would anyone like to
volunteer to extract all the CARDEN (and variant names) passengers and post
the result?
Happy 2003 to everyone.
Arthur
