Also would like to mention I believe John is brother to Youen Carden that
worked for Thomas Jefferson, both were in Goochland Co., VA, in the 1790's
and both married Davis women. If memory serves a Davis married a Carden
(maybe Milly, going from memory here) in the same time frame as well. But I
haven't had success at finding information on Davis to find out if they are
related and haven't found descendants of the other 2 marriages. As Youen was
known to have a daughter but that's about it.

This is my group of Carden, well John and Andrew Jackson that is. I haven't
heard of James Cardin from VA being in Jasper Co. This is interesting
because John originally went to Jasper Co., from VA and there was a William
Carden there. I know of no connection between William, James and John. If
memory serves me right Oren is descended from Williams' group and he and I
have exchanged information several times and can't find a connection, as
Becky and I have and I can't find one with her Owen (O.H.R). Is it possible
James, John and William are brothers? I am not ruling out James as a son
but, I have his line fairly well documented, well except a son Benjamin
which I have no information on and am wondering if he existed or Benjamin
belongs on this tree. I just thought I would share this unique coincidence
and get others thoughts on it.

Jack,
The land transaction was in Pike Co. Ga. Actually, it was in Monroe, and
then, it was divided and the land was then in Pike Co. Ga.
Well, this group of Carden's were in Jasper Co. Ga., before going to Monroe,
and then Pike.
The info states that John Carden bought the land from a James Whatley in
1829.
I believe John Carden, is listed in the 1830 census for Pike Co. Ga.
When, was your James Carden in Jasper Co. Ga.?

Becky,
I still am under the impression that my James Cardin of Virginia (1790)
and
later in Jasper county Georgia was a son of a John Carde(i)n. Where
is
this
land transaction and do you have any more particulars?
Jack
