More from the fourth page of the manuscript. On the right side of the top
half of the page, there are a couple unconnected notes, followed by a
three-generation family tree for John Carden who married Sophia Roe
(Arthur's 4th g-grandfather, I think). I have his dates as b. 11 May 1699,
d. 6 Jun 1771, from Burke's "Irish Families" and "Irish Landed
Gentry". Those sources have many of the names, allowing me to make more
informed guesses about reading the old script in this document.

From the "Carden Pedigree" manuscript at the Irish Genealogical Office,
Dublin, "Loose Pedigrees A-C", FHL British Film 100242:
[Here's another pasted-on note, very informally scribbled. There is a sort
of wagonwheel symbol on it, which is repeated under "Washington Carden" in
the family tree below.] Carden of Barnane [label at top left].
Washn [with an elevated "n"] Carden [Esq or Sr?] [marriage symbol to:] da
of 2nd Geo Terwilliger [?] [illegible word] of Madigan[?]. [then shows a
daughter:]
Eliz of Tipnes [Tifnes?] on at [illegible word ending in "s"] w - 22
Sep/50. [She has a marriage symbol to:] John Alesand [Esq? Sr?] [and he is
indicated as 2nd son of] Joseph Spencer [?] of Wells Terrace. [Joseph has a
marriage symbol, but it goes off the scrap of paper that was clipped out
and pasted to this document.]
[Here's another unconnected note, in a much neater hand:]
George Bennett of St. James Dublin [married to:] Anne Carden of Templemore
Co Tipp'y Spo'n m & d at Dublin 9 Sept 1709.

[Here begins a family tree. There are four generations of "John", so I'm
going to add a numeral to clarify.]
John Carden-1 Esq of B [for Barnane, I suppose] Co Tip obsut adn. [?? Could
be Latin] 2 Aug 1780. [marriage symbol to:] Sophia Roe dau of Andrew Roe
Will p 1716 by his wife Mary who d Mch [?] 28 1726. [there is a marginal
note, perhaps in another hand, with a line connecting it to the "dau" after
Sophia Roe:] Sister of Mary Thrual [? Thirual?] alias Lea alias Bescialen
[Pescisken? Maybe even Priscilla?] Will is d 11[?] Oct 1751 & p [day &
month illegible] 1753.
[Three children are shown for John & Sophia:]
- John Carden-2 [see below]
- Nich's C [no further information given]
- Sophia = Wm Chadwick
[continuing with John Carden-2:]
John Carden-2 Esq of Barnane Co Tip. W. d 7 July 1789 p. 4 Mh 1790.
[marriage symbol to:] Eliz'h dau of Moore Disney Esq. m d 16 Ap 1765.
[Four children are shown for John-2 and Elizabeth:]
- John Carden-3 [see below]
- Jon'n Carden [no further information given]
- Washington C [with the "wagonwheel" symbol mentioned above.]
- Eliz'h C [marriage symbol] ___ Jones
[Continuing with John Carden-3]
John Carden-3 of B'e Co T [for Barnane Co Tipp] d abt 1829 [marriage symbol
to:] Anne d of Henry [? I'm guessing this only because I have that name
from "Irish Landed Gentry"] Rutter Minchin Esq ["Gentry" has name as
Henry
Rutter, but this entry clearly has the word "Minchin" as well.] [Six
children are shown:]
- John Carden-4 of B'e [No further information given, but this is John
Rutter 'Woodcock' Carden who d. unm.]
- Andrew C of B [I could read this only because I had the name from other
sources.] [marriage symbol to:] ___ d of Sackv'l H Berkley Gen and gov of
Barb[?]. [I have from other sources the wife is Anne, daughter of Lt-Gen.
Sackville Hamilton Berkeley.]
- Lionel
- Charles
- James
- Anne C m. Robt Burrowes of Stradone [read only with help from "Landed
Gentry"]
[end of this family tree.]
[One additional comment is recorded above a double horizontal stroke
marking the end of the first half of the page:] Was Mrs. Carden (Priscilla
Kent) a sister of Aq [Aquilla, I suppose] Kent of Coolderry in 1730
