Hi there Dave
A query about the surname "Minnit".
My husband is descended from the Irish family of Winnit and I am wondering
if this could be an "M' or a "W".

Here's some more from the manuscript pedigree. Note that in the first
transcription, where I had "Prococke [Peacock?] Brayacer", it should be
"Peacock Brogden", based on information in this section. This stuff is
hard to read.

From the "Carden Pedigree" manuscript at the Irish Genealogical Office,
Dublin, "Loose Pedigrees A-C", FHL British Film 100242:
[The bottom half of the third page has a family tree beginning with William
Carden Esq. In my database, he matches to William Carden, b. CIR 1640, d.
CIR 1725, "William of Newlands" who m. Eliza Minnitt in 1672, and who is
the grandfather of John Carden discussed in my first transcription.]
William Carden Esq. of Newlands to Killard. Will of 4 July 1723 p 3 Mh.
1726.
[This entry is joined by a marriage symbol to a blank entry containing only
the words "dau of". A descendents' line comes down to a list of children
with two sons, William and John, and six, or perhaps seven, daughters.]
-William Carden of Ballymeade, who m. Catherine Cleburn. [I'll document his
entry separately]
-John Carden [no information given -- just a blank marriage symbol and
descendents' line.]
-Sarah Carden m. about 16 Oct 1711 to Edw "fflliott" a Rm Cathc [from other
sources, I have this husband's name as "Affolio", but this hand-written
version is as shown.]
-Anne Carden m. to ["Joseph somebody" is crossed out, followed by] Cecill
[Chatmary? Hartmary?] Cecill. [There is a tiny note below this name.might
be something like "a younger brother[?] of Wm C of xxx?"]
-Mary Carden m. to _____ Bootle
-Susannah Carden m. to _____ Brogden [there is a note off to the left of
all the daughters with the name "Peacock Bn" and a line curving in to point
at Susannah's name. I'd guess the husband was Peacock Brogden, and that is
also the name showing at the end of the entry for John Carden documented in
my first transcription.]
-Priscilla Carden m. to Thms Dawson, son of Ob. D. [I have as Obadiah
Dawson from other sources] And had issue Anne D., Eliza D., Jane D., & Mary
D.
-Jane Carden m. to _____ Askew & had issue Anne A. [beneath this entry,
there is a note in another hand "m. also to Leigh?"]
-Judith Carden m. to _____ Walker
-Elizabeth Carden m. to _____ Proctor.
