sounds about right for this mixed up bunch.....LOL. my mother's baby brother Oscar
Carden, d. 1991 looked more indian than some of the rest did. he had jet black hair, was
darker complexioned than some. both mom's brothers were over 6 ft. tall, mom said her
sister Bertha was under 5ft. and she was very heavy but when she walked across a wood
floor you never heard make a sound. i've found so many of the Carden'/Cardins
marrying other cousins that were related through marriage.

Hi. I wish to goodness I had some sensible info to share. My Sutton family
should be a soap opera because all things in their lives were sideways and
backwards!! I never met my Grandmother Bessie Belle Sutton but I was told
she was slender, dark skin and long black hair she pulled back very tight.
She said her father was Gaston Sutton( mother Carden ?) but put on her
marriage license that Henry Sutton was her father. Make up your mind please
Bessie ! Gaston was never married but "the family" said he had 3 kids, the
mother maybe in Iredell Co. in the mountains. He wore black always, had
long black hair pulled into a pony tail and always showed up on doorsteps of
neighbors in time to eat !! These people make me pull my own hair.
They sound like they were part Indian but not as smart. They seemed to try
to hide who they were. I "had" black hair and do have an Indian nose and
med. dark skin. I do have an Indian temper and losing it fast. If I can get
the right wife and mother for Henry and Gaston I will know what direction to
follow. You know, I think the French have those noses also.
Have you seen any Cardens before 1850 with Eliza as a wife?
Forgive my tantrum, just tired.
Thanks,, Gerri Ann
