Hi Wayne,
I was able to find Randolph Carden in the Mereweather Georgia 1840 census,
the Russell co., Alabama census for 1850, 1860, and 1870. But I haven't
been able to locate Randolph, Benjamin, or William (Randolph's brothers) in
the 1830 census. I was wondering if you could offer some suggestion as to
where I might find them in 1830. Randolph was b. abt 1813 in Georgia.
I found a Matthew Thompson (Randolph's Father-in-law) in the 1820 census
for Putnam co. Georgia.
Bobbie Carden sent me some information from the book "The History of
Russell County, Alabama", that gave me some wonderful information on
Randolph's family. I tried to find more information on Benjamin and
William. I found William in Russell co. in the 1850, 1860, 1870, and his
family in 1880. I wasn't able to find him in 1840 or 1830. I found
Benjamin in Russel co. in 1850 and 1860,but could not locate his family in
the 1830, 1840, 1870, or 1880 census records. I'm wondering if this family
may have moved on, but I don't know where to look.
I think that if I can push back another generation or two I will tie into
the other Carden families of the south. Any assistance in this endeavor
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Carrie
