Hello again, Arthur,
I am Norma Carden Reynolds of the Metroplex area of Texas, USA. I
teach seventh grade science. Besides learning about family history, I
love gardening and have earned Master Composter certification and enjoy
using earthworms to eat my kitchen trimmings. Sometimes, I wish I had
majored in horticulture in college, but as I near retirement, I continue
to do my best to inspire these young pre-adults to look outside
themselves and think of the effect their decisions have on others.
I look at each new day as a challenge to find ways to inspire my
students to do their best. I try to treat them as I did my own
children. Even in science I have found a way to promote family history.
During my unit on the circulatory system, each child is required to do a
three generation heart family tree to visualize their possible heart
risk factors. Who knows what curiosity that may arouse!
