Arthur,
If you will collect the information I will post it on my website. I will be leaving for
the west coast later this week and be gone a week or so. It has been awhile since I have
updated the Carden website but will do so when I get back.

I have just visited Chuck's article to which he gave the link (copied
below), and was tremendously impressed by it. Oh that everyone would issue
similar articles about their Carden family, and that someone would produce a
Carden Bibliography to enable us all to locate such gems! It appears to be
included as part of the Battles family website, on which I have much enjoyed
reading HUGH CARDON'S HISTORY OF CHEROKEE COUNTY.
Shall we use this mailing list to create a Carden Bibliography?
Here is something to start it off, and if everyone will post additions, I
will collect them all together and send them to Trish and whoever else is
prepared to post the Carden Bibliography on their website, such as Ron on
the Battles family site on which Chuck's article was posted and where Ron
has posted my Carden DNA Project report.
(1) Articles available on the internet:
Joseph CARDEN born abt 1755 in Virginia; died abt Apr 1818 in Monroe County,
Virginia and his descendants, by Chuck Carden, about 2000.
http://www.lightpatch.com/genealogy/josephcarden001.doc
Hugh Cardon's History of Cherokee County (No mention of family matters, but
fascinating nonetheless).
http://www.lightpatch.com/genealogy/
etc, etc
(2) Printed books
Lost Heritage: The People of Old Butler, Tennessee, and the Watauga
Valley" by Russ Calhoun, Sr., The Overmountain Press, Johnson City, TN.
Available from Amazon and elsewhere. (Contains much information about the
members of the Carden family displaced from Cardens Bluff when the dam was
built).
Carden of Barnane, by Arthur Carden 2004, available from the author at
carden(a)one-name.org (History of the Barnane Estate in Co Tipperary, Ireland,
listing all Carden descendants).
etc, etc.
If this proposal bears fruit I will of course add the other Carden history
books I have written, and other books I possess, such as the autobiography
of John Surman Carden, Captain of HMS Macedonian, defeated by a US frigate
in 1812.
Any interest?
