Hi everyone,
My cousin sent me this census for Jasper Co. Ga. We are curious,
unless
my eyes are playing tricks on me, does this not show, that John Carden
had five sons, and four daughters living at home with him, and then
David had moved out?
Actually it shows that he had three, possibly four, sons living with
him. The first tally mark is a son age 0-10, the second is one age
10-16. The third is one age 16 to 18. The one age 16 to 18 should be
the same son who is listed 16-26. The instructions were not always
followed though. The male age 26-45 is John (presumably at the 45 end
of the scale).
The information I have on John only lists seven children. David,
Elizabeth, Benjamin, Mary A. John Carden Jr., Andrew Jackson. Then it
shows he had a child, by an Elizabeth, named Eliza, b in 1842.
Does anyone have any idea who these others are listed on here?
The lottery records seem to indicate that there were two separate James
CARDENs in Jasper Co. One of them, the one who has a census listing, is
a son of William CARDEN. My guess, and it's only a guess, is that the
other one is a son of John and is also the James CARDEN who moved to
Henry Co.
Also, does anyone know if there is a will for John or David Carden?
Not that anyone has found
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
Becky Carden
