Hi Elisa and Martha, ok, I know this is far fetched and I'm not one of
our family researchers, but....could this Larkin be our Reuben's brother?
When did he die? I know Reuben's brother was supposed to have died in
the Civil War??????? Well, like I said it is pretty far fetched.

Hi Elisa,
Yes, I think this lady (she didn't sign her email, so IDK her name) is
looking for a member of that Larkin (b.1808) line. Don't you? A few
years
ago, by sheer accident, I'd found out he lived in Pike Co., AL (Troy area)
at one time in the 1840's bc/ I'd run across him on one of the old census
records when researching another family line there (in Pike Co.).
After that I wasn't sure where he went. I believe he might've also been in
Chilton Co., just below Shelby Co., bf/ moving on to Pike Co. Shelby Co,
AL
is where my Carden/in family was living by then, as well. I've just never
pursued it bc/ he wasn't 'one of mine'. That may have been a mistake bc/
my
Cardens may have been with, or around, that Larkin (b.1808) Cardin family
in
SC bf/ coming to AL. It seems that Larkin (b.1808) was definitely the
'traveller' of the bunch, if that was him in Chilton, then Pike, and
finally
in Mobile Co., AL at the time he died.
I know your bathroom will look really good when you get it done. We think
it's hard for our kids to 'come back home' after they're grown, but I
think
it's equally hard for us to live w/ them too. ;)
Take Care,
Martha
You do know that the South didn't lose The War - we're just waitin' on
supplies !

Very interesting.......
i think the older Larkin( b. 1785) that is mentioned, is possbile brother
to
my Leonard....
i had no idea that the Larkin, b. 1808...died in Mobile....i don't think
that has ever been mentioned on the Carden message board...or if it was ,
i
missed it.
Good to hear from you.....we finally got back to 40 hours a week, after
several months of doing overtime at work. Now i have got my bathroom torn
all to pieces redoing it, so, i am staying with my youngest for a while. i
think he is getting tired of mom being around.....LOL.

Elisa, would you look at this post on the Rootsweb link in cluded here?
The
reason is if you go there and click this lady's 'other posts' you'll see
where she's been looking @ the Larkin Cardin (en) who mar. Elizabeth
Honeycutt line. Doesn't this line belong to you (maybe collaterally) and a
couple more who post to this list ?
Cheers, Martha

I am looking for any information on a George Cardin or possibly spelled
Carden. Oral family history states that he had 2 sons by a Martha Unknown
and that George and Martha were never married. One son: Luther Eugene
Cardin, b. 20 Mar 1916, d. 24 Apr 1990 Pleasant Hill, Lane Co., OR. and
Kimsey Leo Cordin, b. 8 Jan 1919, d. 4 Mar 1989 Murphy, Cherokee Co., NC.
I
have Luther's obit and it says that he was born in Sylva, Jackson Co., NC.
But my mother-in-law said that her birth certificate says that Luther was
born in Alabama. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
