Kathy, So glad to see someone tracing my line. Malissa Carden was my gggrandmother.
Maybe I can connect some of the dots in this line. If not, maybe I can renew my search
and find something.

I realize this thread has been going for quite some time, but I'm still looking.
I went back and re-read some of the info that I have.
Jasper Floyd Carden had a nephew named William Carden. William Seigler was
married to a niece of Floyd Carden. He (Carden) also had a niece named Malissa
Haney (of Cleveland, TN) who was married to Green Haney. I got this information
from the Robert Barker Civil War Papers. Does anyone have any of these names in
your Carden lines? I hope so.
I am beginning to believe he was born on the 'wrong side of the blanket' to one
of the Cardens that there's plenty of info about. ;) He was born 1828 in TN. I
have him on the 1860 Hamilton County Census and the 1880 Polk County Census. He
died in 1903 and is buried in Polk County.
Thank you so much.
Kathy
