Hi,listers and welcome Helen
Is the Jordan Alexander Carden you are speaking of from Pickens Co. Al ? If
so he was the son of John Berry Carden and Mary Ann Sanders b. in Feb 1850
and married to Mary Lucinda Brown. I have three children for them that I
know about. My aunt corresponded with a dau, Mrs. J.E. Blythe who was asking
about the family.
John Berry was the son of Jordan and Hettie Ann ( Watson) Carden and came to
Pickens Co. from St. Clair Co. Al where they had moved for a time from
Spartanburg Co, S.C.
If this is the right person would be happy to share what information I
have.
Darlene

Subject: [CARDEN-L] Welcome to Helen and family of Alabama
Hi, listers
I have just arranged for a DNA kit to be sent to be sent to Helen's son
Greg,
at her request. He lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Helen - if you
don't
receive a confirmation soon, please tell me.
She says: Feel free to mention me on the list. I haven't posted since I
really haven't had anything to add that would help in the Carden searches,
having rather limited information myself, but have thoroughly enjoyed
reading
about all the Carden clans. One of my husband's cousins in Texas
has been
much more diligent in the family research. My husband, Grif, is an
Alabama
Carden whose great grandfather was
Jordan Alexander Carden (and that's all I know - Grif hasn't been
especially
interested in genealogy!), but I have been following the DNA testing
results
with interest and our son, Greg, said he would be interested in
taking
part.
So, welcome, Helen! Let's hope that listers can tell you more about
Jordan
Alexander Carden (do you have a date for him?). And do please tell
us
more
about your "diligent" cousin in Texas!
Arthur
