Dear < CrimsonLies78 > ,
Your grandfather Alfred's family line may be of interest
to some of us on this list who don't know it. Could you
share it with us sometime?
Thanks, Martha

"Let our children teach their children that their patriotic fathers
fought for their fatherland; that they were inspired by as patriotic
motives as ever fired the hearts or nerved the arms of free men; and
though our Cause has gone down in disaster, in ruin, in blood; not one
stain of dishonor rests upon it." - Gen. Wade Hampton, CSA - 1895

I had heard about the Carden family reunion from my grandfather,
Alfred Carden. He said there was some cousin of his who was writing a
book on the Carden family a few years ago. Does anyone know anything
about this?
I know nothing about any book about the Carden family in the USA other
than my own booklet on the Cardens of Orange Co, NC. Perhaps someone
else can tell us about one. But I have myself written the following
books mostly about Cardens in the UK, Australia, etc
Carden Register, 1970
Carden Miscellany 1, 1970
Carden Miscellany 2, 1970
Carden Miscellany 3, 1975
Carden of Barnane, 2004
Carden of East Kent, 2006
Carden of Tonbridge, 2006
Copies of the last four of these are available from me. I hope to issue
a couple more in 2007.
A Carden Gathering was held near the hamlet of Carden in Cheshire,
England, in 1998 attended by 150 family members including about 20 from
USA. Copies of the 65-page Report (including a number of articles about
the family) are still available.
Doubtless you are aware of numerous web sites regarding the Carden
family, the best of which is Trish's.
Arthur Carden of Horsham, England.
