Chuck:
Some of those you mention can be found in "Who's Who in America" and in
"Who
was who in America," from which I give extracts below (extracted by me in
about 1975) for George Alexander Carden, lawyer, born Dalton GA 1865, son of
Moses White Carden and Salena Dunn. m. Carrie Burns Shumard 1890. Children
Isabel (m. William V Griffin), Salena (Mrs Garnet Hullings), Carrie (Mrs
Gerald C Maxwell). m (2) Rode Porter 1903, children Mrs Elizabeth Carden
Ingersoll, DR George A Carden. Purchased a number of ships and surrendered
them to the US Govt when need by it during World WAr, at sacrifice of
several million dollars. Died 1946.
My main interest in this family arises from the fact that Carrie above,
named in full Caroline Burns Carden, married Gerald Joseph Constable Maxwell
and they lived near Winchester, England in the 1970s, called themselves
Constable Maxwell and knew my brother Michael Carden also of Winchester.
They had two children, P G Constable Maxwell and a daughter who married the
Duke of Norfolk, the highest ranking Duke in the United Kingdom.
