Hey All,
With Thanksgiving almost upon us here in the U.S., we know how to count
our blessings. We've been told that in the past our ancestors came over
to this country from many cultures, but did you know that almost none of
them were more persecuted, starved and maligned than the Irish ? And
our Cardens were some of those people.
If you haven't read Lynn's essay 'Ireland to Liverpool', you're
missing
a
wonderful treat. Here is a chance to improve your understanding of just
how your ancestors must have really lived from the perspective of this
very well done literary work.
What of those who were not able to come to America for whatever
reasons? What of the ones who were left behind ? The conditions in
their homeand, such as Lynn describes in her powerfully moving story
of the Cardens of Liverpool, were almost unbearable. In her words,
many taken from actual accounts of eye witnesses, you will come to
understand even more clearly just how heroic your ancestors really
were.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving,
Martha
