In my file is a Horace CARDEN, b. 1873, s/o Martin A. CARDEN & Hester A. PERRY.
Martin A. was the s/o Reuben CARDEN, b. 1805 and Sarah HENRY. Reuben was the s/o James
CARDEN & Elizabeth FULLER. Don't know
if this is the same one, but he would have been the right age for the Spanish American
War. I also have a Horace M. CARDEN, b. 1873, who married Louise E. CARDEN. He was the
s/o William J. CARDEN & Martha
HAYES. Horace M. apparently went by the nickname of "Shortfoot". I have one
other Horace, b. 1888, who would have been too young for the Spanish American War.

Hi Carden people,
Does anyone know of a Horoce W. Carden who saw service in the 1st U.S.
Volunteer Cavalry (Rough Riders) during the Spanish American War, 1 May 1898
to 30 Sept 1898. His service record states he joined for duty 14 May 1898 at
Muscogee, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and was a resident of Ardmore, Indian
Territory (Oklahoma).
Thanks,
Chuck Carden
