My CC Carden probably would have been born around the latter part of 1890 or
early 1900. His wife was born in 1896. Perhaps he was a child of one of the
children of James Carden. Might even have been Columbus' son. Is your James
Carden associated with Carden Hollow to your knowledge?

In the 1850 Sullivan County, TN, census, James CARDEN and wife Sarah
are
shown with children, Mary, Columbus, Elbert, and James. In the 1860
census, Columbus is also there, age 17. This is probably your Christopher
Columbus. The James CARDEN family was the only CARDEN family in Sullivan
County in 1850 and 1860.
