My thanks to you and Chuck Carden for sending this data to me. I do wonder,
however, the outcome of the court case mentioned above. Was the land
successfully sold, and to whom?
Interestingly, my Ledford and Prince ancestors, William Prince and Ephraim
Ledford, were both enumerated with their families in the 1850 census of Murray
county Georgia. I see that some Carden families were there at one time, also.
My direct Ledford line resided in Murray county until the Civil War ended.
They are enumerated in the 1870 census of Monroe county Tennessee. This gives
me a broader insight into the movements of my Ledford line, as the Carden and
Clowers line already resided in Monroe County.
