I have Carden forbearers who lived in Botetourt County, VA in 1770s, but I've not been
able to trace my line back further than that. However, with no evidence to support it, I
think they came down the Valley of Virginia from Pennsylvania. My most distandt relative
is Joseph Carden, born about 1755, whose wife was Mary, no known last name. If any of you
Pennsylvania Crdens know of forbearers who went south into Virginia in that time frame,
I'd like to hear from you, and also how you trace your line back.
Many thanks,
Dick Carden
