Joyce,
Oh, I do believe, we've been in touch privately about our Carden's.
So you descend from Andrew Jackson Carden?
I posted the land records on USGENWEB for Pike Co. I don't know if it is
still on there or not.
Do you know a James Carden? I believe he descends from Andrew Jackson
Carden.
He may live around Douglasville, or Carrollton, Ga. He descends from the
Andrew Jackson, and then, from the James Buchannon, "Buck" Carden.
Do you have any info on my Owen H.R. or Owen N.K. Carden?
He was born in 1820 in Ga., possibly Jasper. Like I said, he bought land
from Andrew Jackson Carden around 1839. He married, Nancy McLeod, in Pike
Co. Ga. in 1843, I believe. In the 1850 census, he was living next to a
Willougby family and in the household, was an Andrew Jackson Carden Jr., and
on the other side, was Andrew Jackson Carden Sr.
My Owen, and Nancy, migrated to Al., to Tallapoosa Co., around 1860. He
enlisted in Hillard's Legion in April of 1862, and died in Atlanta in July
of 1862, and he is supposed to be buried in Oakland cemetery in Atlanta in
the Confederate soldiers section.
See, if you can find those records on line, as I posted the sale of the land
from Andrew Jackson to my Owen.

Here's my direct line:
John Carden
his son, Andrew Jackson Carden
his son, James Buchanan (Buck) Carden
his son, William Cleveland (Cleve) Carden
his daughter, Bertha Carden Matychak Chieves
Me, Joyce Matychak Bates
Becky, I would love to see what you have on Andrew Jackson Carden about
the
land sale for my records. I have very little on him.
It is my understanding that almost all the Pike County Cardens are
related.
Also, some of my branch migrated to Campbellton County which is now
Fulton.
Andrew's son Buck migrated to Paulding County.
