Interesting theory. It is nice to see some interest in the Georgia Cardens
again. It would be nice to connect William and John and Youen to the right
families. The female Carden I was talking about is Milly Carden, she
married a Davis in the 1790's in Goochland Co., VA. I don't know how we
might connect these unless we research descendants and work up to try to tie
these together.

Mike and Chuck,
There were two John Cardens in Oglethorpe county in 1800. The one who went
to Pike county was born around 1770 and was probably a brother to William.
The other one on the census shows and age of over 45 which means he was born
prior to 1755. Could he be the father of Pike county John and Jasper county
William?

Joyce your information is correct. I have tried to help Jack and
Becky
and
just can't find a connection. In fact Jack helped me fill a few holes. I
think the census information Jack listed is children of William Carden
from
Jasper Co., GA. I believe William and John were brothers. I also believe
Youen Carden is a brother as well. He was in Goochland Co., VA the same
time as John and also married a Davis as did John. Both in the 1790's.
Youen remained in VA and was a mill worker or manager for Thomas
Jefferson.
There was also a Carden woman who married a Davis in Goochland in the
1790's. I'm sorry I don't have that info readily available. When John
went
to GA he went to Jasper Co., before ending in Pike. I also don't think
John
was a close relation of the other Carden's in Goochland, maybe a cousin or
something. I really think Jack and his group are descended from William
and
I think Owen may be as well. I don't have any proof of this just my
thoughts. I would like to add I wouldn't have near as much information if
it wasn't for Joyce and another cousin in Villa Rica, Pauline and her
husband Robert, and Chuck was a huge help as well. I haven't heard from
him
in a while and hope MA is treating him well. There is a strange an
interesting relationship between the Carden's, Willoughby's and the
Kitchen's. Perhaps this may open some new opportunities for research. I
wish I had Becky's and Jack's brick wall but if I do I can't find it. I
also wish I had more time to research but I don't. If I can help any let
me
know.
Good Luck!!
Mike
