Hi everyone,
My cousin sent me this census for Jasper Co. Ga. We are curious, unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, does this not show, that John Carden had five sons, and four daughters living at home with him, and then David had moved out?
The information I have on John only lists seven children. David, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Mary A. John Carden Jr., Andrew Jackson. Then it shows he had a child, by an Elizabeth, named Eliza, b in 1842.
Does anyone have any idea who these others are listed on here?
Also, does anyone know if there is a will for John or David Carden?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Hi List,
While looking @ an excerpt of names from the RUSSELL Co, AL cemetery list
for Girard Cemetery, Phenix City, AL ... I notice that there were are a
whole "passle" of CARDEN names there. I'm not familiar with any of them, or
their origins, and wondered if any of you know anything about them ?? ? ?
This knowledge might help some of us who are wondering where their Alabama
CARDEN's came from to get to Alabama and who they were. If you have any
info. on any of those CARDEN's @ Girard (or anywhere else in the surounding
area, like Notasulga, AL, or right across the river in Columbus, GA,
...etc.) it would be good to know about it.
Especially helpful would be names of the oldest known ancestor who came to
Alabama, and the line he or she came from... for there are MANY of us who
research Alabama CARDEN's.
Thanks so much ahead of time... Martha
I have absolutely no idea. When my wife and I were in Sligo, I went to the
Genealogical Bldg. they were closed with a big sign ont he door that would
reurn at3 or 4 o'clock from lunch.
I wrote to them, paid them to search, and got nothing. So I am at a loss. .
.I know that he arrived in Phelps, NY in 1851 as a BArew Master. But, what
ship he came over on I do not kow. I believe that he married while in
Phelps, then in 1856 he came to Chicago, IL

I got an Carden query email from Connie Bean. Can anyone help this lady?
Trisha,
My gg was Ruffas B. Carden buried at Enon Cemetery in Shelby County,
Alabama. Have you ever seen this name anywhere? I am having a hard time
finding his parents. He was born Jan 23 1861 died Jan 16 1945, married Mavel
Agnes Strickland in Coosa County 1881? That's all I know about him. Surely
he is related to all the other Cardens in Shelby since he is buried there.
If you ever come across any thing, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

I have added new photos on my Carden WebPages.

They are the grandparents of Elisa Sanford, JOHN FRANKLIN CARDEN and NANCY
MARY ELIZABETH CAMPBEL. John is the son of JAMES P. CARDEN, grandson of
JOHN C. CARDEN.
I see resemblance with some of the other Cardens shown. What do you think?

HELP NEEDED...
Another researcher found this recorded in her aunt's files and sent it to
me...neither of us has a clue as to which LEONARD CARDIN this is...or where
he came from.
Anyone have a clue or know where this book may be found...?
All help appreciated.
Thanks, Martha
