My brother Ron has been communicating with Robert Dodd...who is researching
the Kenners...which is one of our side lines. There is a really good family
tree for the Kenners at
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/d/o/d/Robert-C-Dodd/index.html
Our Carden/on's are included.
If anyone else is interested in checking into this lineage...from the main
page...click on the line that reads:
"User Home Page Outline Descendant Tree: Descendants of Richard Kenner"
Be Prepared!!...There are many pages of Kenners (8)...the Carden/ons are on
page 2.
And if you thought there were a lot of John's and Joseph's and Richard's in
the Carden lineage...check out the Rodham's in the Kenner lines!!
Have a good one all!
Cathy Thompson
But Joseph's too!!!!! Our line contains many of them!! Joseph in
1755...Joseph W. in 1782...Joseph W. Jr. in 1824...and he had a son named
Joseph....Joseph Norman in 1885...and Joseph Norman Jr. in 1921. Only one
John in my group....and he was John L. ...son of the Joseph born in 1755!!
Hi Chuck and All,
I don't have much in those years (1600-1700), but I think that they must
belong to my Cardin's.
I had the names but no info yet. I will hang on to this hoping that I can
tie into the family somehow. Thanks!! And yes, there are a lot of "John's"
around the Cardins. But I have more "Richard's" since the oldest son in
each
family was named Richard! It is so easy to confuse each family. Thanks

Dear Arthur, Mary and All,
Thank you all so much!!! "Overjoyed" is putting it mildly. I was afraid that
this Cardin would belong to someone else, too. Is that ships list one that I
will find at the FHC or the library? I have looked on the internet, some,
but didn't see anything yet. Thanks, again. I'm feeling very lucky right
now.

It would seem that every Tom, Dick and Harry was named John Carden. Anyone
have a connection to Peter and Margaret?

I had never heard of Nevis but assumed that where ever it was, he must
have had a reason to get out of town fast if he was making the trip at
what would have been quite an advanced age in those days. In following
the migration pattern here, I often visualize tar and feathers and an

did you notice he came from Nevis? Presumably the
Caribbean island of that name, to which he or his family may have
emigrated long before. Arthur.

Wanted to make a correction to this post. Leonard Cardin did have a son Larkin
but not the Larkin that married Elizabeth Sentell. This Larkin is brother to
Leonard Cardin. It is confusing because Leonard had a son named Larkin and
Larkin named a son Leonard.
Before I list my husband's Cardin/Carden family I would like to ask that if
your information on this family
differs from mine please let me know so I can see how you came about your
information because one of our

My information proven by 25 years research in legal records and in courthouses.
Also, by copies of parts of
three letters written by Sophronia Yancey in 1908-1911 when she was 85 years
old.

Cheryl, Don't worry about being long winded....we like long winded.
I was unable to turn up any of these people in my file, but will hope
someone else does and that they'll answer to the list.

All,
I have posted the results of our roll call last week at
http://www.tcarden.com/tree/carden/rollcall.html
This was done in the spirit of helping researchers find each
other. If you would rather not have your e-mail posted here
please let me know and I will remove it immediately.
Also I did edit them a little for brevity so you might want to
check yours for accuracy. (I gave up trying to edit them when I
got to Jerry Parker's)

Blissett is the maiden name. John was born circa 1852 and Sarah circa 1853.
I do not have any other dates. Sarah is the daughter of William S. Blissett
and Mary A. Burt. John is the son of Andrew Jackson Carden and Adeline
Crawford.
Thanks

Can anyone confirm the children of John and Sarah, from Polk Co., or Pike Co., Georgia. I show they have 4 children, William and Ezra (males) and Sarah and Mary J. (females). I have found inf. I would like to confirm listing a George A., Robert, and John T. as children. Also, shows a stepson William J. Baugh, is this the William I already have listed?? Does anyone know if Sarah was married previous of John Carden. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Cousins!
We've updated our CARDEN/CARDON web site!
We've added some scanned photographs of Hugh Walker CARDON, Lula MCSPADDEN,
Willie Aquilla SMITH and her sisters, and Catherine Lucille Rose CARDON.
There are links to a few images of the Garrett-Cardon cemetery from video
my sister took while she was there. Each image is rather large (about
200k). I hope to have thumbnail images on the main page soon.
There are many more images of the cemetary available that don't yet have
links from our main page. If you'd like to see them, just drop me a note,
and I'l give you the URL.
The Family Tree Maker file is coming along. I believe I can distribute it
before too long. I'm still learning how to make living persons "private" to
protect their information.
We've begun adding reciprocal links near the bottom of the page. If you're
a CARDEN/CARDON and have your own web page, we'd like to know so we can
provide a link for you.
And before I forget, the page is at:
http://www.sageinst.com/users/genealogy/
Enjoy, and best of luck hunting!

Don't come to Michigan to cool off.....hotter than blazes here also.
A 10% return on your mailing efforts could be worthwhile. Don't you
always wonder if there's someone out there sitting on the exact
information you need?

Gooday,
In the past I have sent out genealogical query/surname mail letters
seeking family data.-Such as your CD Rom phone directory endeaver.
My returns have been on the order of 10%. It would be interesting to
me to see if the southern hemisphere is any diff.
If you do get any responses that relate to any Mayo/Sligo Cardens I
would appreciate hearing about them-Thanks in advance.
Note to Arthur: the uncheck is in the mail. I'm sorry about the
delay/problem in cashing. I now understand the problem. Banks are not
a public service entity; they are there to fatten their bottom line;
which they do quit well.
Regards,
Bud Burge
Ps: would someone pls turn off the heat.
Here my line so far, Can anyone help me get further, I really would like
to get them back to jolly ol' England before I get too much older. ;) Oh
