I am looking for information on Benjamin Carden listed on 1880 Census living
in Henry Co., Georgia. Age 59, married to Permila age 43 and shows having 8
children 6 boys 2 girls. I am hoping this can make a link to John Carden
and Cartha Jane Davis. They have a Benjamin that I have no inf.. on.
According to 1830 Census there is a Benjamin D. Carden in Pike Co. and
Benjamin P. Carden on 1840 Census in Pike Co., Georgia. There is also an
Andrus J. (I think it should Andrew J.), John jr., and David listed in Pike
Co., Georgia Census 1830 and 1840, these would all be children of John and
Cartha. If anyone has any information you can email me at
mailto:castron72@hotmail.com .
Thanks
Mike
Cathy: Congratulations on your recent discoveries. I can't imagine
trying to trace Smiths, but it sounds as though you got lucky.
Howdy to all Carden researchers.

This has been a landmark week for us!!! Not only have we added three
generations to our Battles line, but just this morning I received an email
that gave us our Smith lineage back several generations!!! This is regarding
Willie Acquilla Smith that was married to Joseph Norman Cardon!!! We were
prepared for this search to take years!!! Copied below is the message
received:
I saw your query on the Escambia Co. Fl. Query Forum regarding your
grandmother. Willie Acquilla Smith was the daughter of William Alfonza
SMITH and Mary Alice Eugenia (WATKINS) SMITH. Mary Alice Eugenia WATKINS
parents were Jason H. WATKINS and Mary YOUNGBLOOD. I have some additional
information on dates and places of birth/death.
If this is the line you are researching, let me know and I would be happy to
provide you with what information I have. I'd love to learn more about
Willie Acquilla's descendants. My great-grandmother was Ivy Lee SMITH,
Willie Acquilla's older sister.
If any others are researching this line...I will gladly forward a message!!
Am so very happy!!
Happy Mother's Day to all mom's on the list! Hope you all have a terrific
weekend!

Keep up the sharing! Your earlier tip about witnessess on deeds giving clues
to the wife's maiden name was wonderful, opened up another area I did not
know. Now the information on "brain fever" explained the death of a "greatx4
aunt", I did not know what that was.
