I'm forwarding an email, maybe one of you can help Barbara with her Card
ancestors. Here is another mention of a Benson Card in GA., 1830 census.
I would like to know more about him also.
Later, Imo Greenwood, scroll down

Dear Mrs. Greenwood,
I am a great-granddaughter of Barbara Ann Card, born about June 1849, in
Georgia. After almost 20 years of researching, that is still the most I know
about my Card ancestry,
In the 1850, Cobb County Georgia census:
page 122; h/h 448-448
Akins, A. 27 farmer TN
Akins, Martha A. 27 GA
Akins, James A. 8 GA
Akins, Sarah E. 6 GA
Akins, Henry K. 4 GA
Card, Arie 21 GA
Card, BarbaAnn 1 GA
J. Akins is John Anderson Akins; his wife, Martha Ann Card Akins. We have no
idea what the relationship is between the three Card females. Arie Card
disappears after the 1850 census. Barbara Ann Card is raised by John
Anderson Akins and his wife, Martha Card Akins.
This Akins family relocated to Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia and Barbara
Ann Card (Akins) married Lorenzo Dow Williams there 16 Dec 1875. L.D.
Williams and Barbara Card moved on to near Bell County Texas after 1880.
We have tried to make a connection with the Card families living in the
Georgia area in the early 1820's. We have been very curious about Benson
Card, living in Franklin County Georgia 1830 and his close neighbor, Sallie
Aikins.
Would you know what happened to Benson Card's first family? It appears that
he remarried in Bond County Illinois to a lady much younger than he, and
raises a second family of children there. We can find no mention of who his
first wife was or who his older children may have been.
We would very much appreciate your thoughts or comments on the above family.
Thank you,
Barbara Pernitza Doty
