I wonder what brought them to Monmouth NJ - were the Monmouth Cards distant
relatives or is it just a coincidence that another Card family shows up in
the same place...?

I'm carrying the parents of Edward Shannon Card as Edward (John) Card, b.
between 1765/1770 d. Abt. 8 April 1815 and Elizabeth Trefthen b. Abt 1768
and d. after 1850 in Friendship, ME. There is slim justification for this
information and I'm reluctant to call it the gospel truth.
