It's been a while since I've posted and it seems like there's lots of new
energy here, so I'll repost:
I'm descended from Peter Card of New Jersey. He showed up in NJ in the mid
1700s, had a wife named Sarah (surname unknown), and had children; Henry,
Peter, Catharine, John, Stephen and Rachael (but perhaps others as well). He
worked in the iron industry as did many generations of his descendants. I
suspect he is connected to the Rhode Island line of Cards, but that's only a
suspicion. I have no vital dates for him, but he was still alive in 1793,
and the births of the children begin in the 1760s, so he was probably born
in the 1740s.
If anyone has any ideas on how or where he might fit in, I'd love to hear
about it.
Thanks,
Adrian Card

Although this site does not directly connect its Card line to Richard Card,
it does trace its line back to the mid-1500's.
