Hi Listers,
On the other mailing lists that I am subscribed to they have a Genie. This Genie grants you one genealogy wish. This wish is to be able to travel back in time and meet one of your ancestors. These stories are wonderful to read. Please only list you CARD ancestor.
There are 4 people on this list that we share the same ancestors, I would like to hear from you too.
Oh great and wonderful Card Genie, please grant me this one wish:
To meet my great - grandfather Elias Johnson Card. To be able to sit down w ith him and talk. To ask him who is grandfather was. I would want him to tell me the story about when he operated the Card Ferry in Macon, Mississippi. One time when Elias was carrying a man and his horse across the river on this ferry, this horse did what most horses do. He did his business right there on the ferry. Well that made my old great grandpa mad. He told that man to clean that up, the man said no, well the next thing we know Elias pulled out his hunting rifle and the man was cleaning it up by the use of his nose. So Genie grant me this one wish.................
Send your genie wish to Card-l(a)rootsweb.com
Make sure in the subject line you put Card-Genie WIsh (Your ancestor).
P.S. Genie, there are over 50 listers that subscribed to this list, Genie, let me hear from all of them.
Happy Holidays,
Susan Card Voyles
