This is my Carberry family tree. My gran said they were related to the
horse racing family in Ireland but have no proof
of this

General Notes: Child - James CARBERRY In 1861 he was in Wigan Lancashire
working as a coal miner the house he was living in belonged to an
Irishman. Eliza Thorogood was also working in Lancashire at this time
although about 40 miles from Wigan, at the house she was working in
their were 3 other Servants from Ireland is this how she met James

In census was listed of Westmeath but not the town in a book I examined
on Ireland at Guildford Reference library it stated their were Carberrys
in Athlone Family legend as told by his daughter Sarah Loiuse was that
he came to England to sell horses but while he was over here he got
involved with a woman and spent the money and was unable to return to
Ireland
