I am not familiar with the name. My immediate folks all hail from Hyde
County and all history shows Hyde roots not Pamlico County. I feel certain
the families are connected though. I have not done any in depth research but
I do find it very interesting. I have a brother William Ted Carawan but I
think it is coincidence that he shares the name of your ancestor. Good luck
in your research.

Hi Peggy
I have a William Dewey Carawan in my file who was born 10/7/1903 and died
6/14/1934. He married 1/8/1924. His father was William Billie Fillmore
Carawan and mother was Annie May Neal.
Since the name William Dewey Carawan was the same as yours, I thought I
might have a connection.

I am researching William D Carawan. He was born sometime in 1876 in
Pamilco
County. He was married to Mary J Leary on 5 March 1898 in Pamilco County.
He
was the father of William Dewey Carawan born 6 Jan 1898. A daughter Julie
Ann was born in 1904. Is there any information that you could help me
with?
Any information will be welcome.
Thanks, Peggy Blackman
