Folks,
There have been several emails on the Carawan Mailing List lately.
Maybe some of you aren't aware that we have Carawan and Kirwan web sites
online which contains info found at the Maryland Archives back in 1999,
with the great assistance of R.R. Cooper. After you have had a chance
to read the research on the Carawan web site and the Kirwan web site, we
can discuss it further. You will note below the 1716/1717 Dorchester
Co., MD will of MATTHEW CARRAWON / KIRWAN... He begins his will "I
MATHEW CARRAWON of Doroster County" however he signs his will as MATT.
KIRWAN.
By the way, Kay Lynn and I have been asked to become host of the Pamlico
Co., NCGenWeb Pages, which you can view at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncpamlic/
Your assistance will be appreciated.

I recently went to Disney World and found a listing for the Carawan Family at Epcot
Center and looked it up on their computer and it said that the first recorded entry of a
Carawan name was in Maryland. I have traced my name back to John Carawan in Hyde County,
NC in the 1700's. My father's name was Shelton R. Carawan of Low Land, NC and his
father's name was Christhopher Carawan also of Low Land, NC. Can anyone help me get
further back than John of Hyde County?
