Ireland and that the first recorded entry in the US was a female Carawan up north All

I recently went to Disney World and found a listing for the Carawan
Family
at Epcot Center and looked it up on their computer and it said that the
first recorded entry of a Carawan name was in Maryland. I have traced my
name back to John Carawan in Hyde County, NC in the 1700's. My father's
name was Shelton R. Carawan of Low Land, NC and his father's name was
Christhopher Carawan also of Low Land, NC. Can anyone help me get further
back than John of Hyde County?
