Subject: Carrowon Sawyer
List
In this "Preacher and the Gun" novella by Manly Wade Wellmon, there is
mentioned a Carrowon Sawyer. He is supposed to be "the orphaned son of
George Washington Carrowon's niece". I have not yet run across a niece
of
GW who married a Sawyer, nor can I find him on the census after 1850
(where
he is age 17). Does anyone know of this man's origins or what
became of
him? He testified at the trial in 1853, and after that nothin'. Any
help
appreciated.

I have thought (worried) about who Carrawon Sawyer was and where he went
before he
was called to account by that man up stairs-that fellow in THAT
HOUSE NOT MADE WITH HANDS. I have seen the apprentice papers but at that
time it was not too important to me.
