WOW....tangled web indeed.
Most all of this makes perfect sense to me (and a lot of it was quite
enlightening), but towards the end it gets really interesting. I have
questions on two points:
1) Anna Eliza Stotesbury/Hudson. I have always identified her as a
Stotesbury mostly because she is said to have been a Stotesbury in the Hyde
County Addendum to Taking the Backroads on the website, but I have no clue
who her parents were. I have seen her gravestone (have pictures...her name
is imprinted on it as "Annelija"), but since it is a Carawan/Neal/O'Neal
Cemetary, it gives no clue where she came from. So is it Hudson or
Stotesbury? What's the consensus on this? Did she marry a Stotesbury
before marrying David?
2) George D. continues to be a bit of a mystery to me, although most of the
very end of this makes perfect sense. I have no evidence, but I have him
down as the son of William (II) (b. 1785 d. 1847) and Eunice (Unis)
Benson. Can anyone confirm this one, and if possible offer any insight
into George D.'s siblings? Another question: has anyone determined
exactly what the "D" stands for? David possibly?

Art

Folks,
Below is an exchange of information between Kitty Humphries and myself.
Of course, most of the information is from Kitty. Hopefully some of
this somewhere will help someone.
