I don't have anything specific at this point. The Caraker's that I know
about were already in North Carolina by the late 1790's. Perhaps if you
could be a bit more specific as to any individuals for whom you are
searching, I might be able to help. I have offered to do lookups from a
book entitled, Carriker Karriker families by John C. Karriker.
The information that I gained from him is that Philip Karcher, Sr. emigrated
to the United States, most likely from the Black Forest area of Germany
sometime before 1750. He arrived in Pennsylvania, most likely to serve a
period of indenture, and while there, married Catherina Eisenmann in 1751.
He had several children there, and then some time before 1768, he moved to
Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
It is possible that Philip Sr. had a brother (or uncle, or nephew, or ???)
who stayed either behind, or longer, in Pennsylvania, but at this point I
have no information to that effect.
I hope that this helps at least a bit.

(5th great granddaughter of Philip Karcher, Sr.)
