Lajuana,
I found Daniel Carraker on the 1850 AL census index (Accelerated
Indexing Systems, Inc.) I must apologize for the copy I made wasn't
very clear and can't really distinguish the county but it sure appears
to be Randolph, pg. 340, beat #8. I almost hate to tell you that that
could also be house 340. I haven't been fortunate to see the census
image to extract the data. If you have access to it would you please
pass on the information to me and likewise I will do same.
Randolph I'm sure you are aware is right next to Clay Co. So I am
thinking he was in the middle of migrating from GA to AL.
Keep on searching.

Good Morning Cousins....
I am posting my query again for Daniel CARECTER/CARAKER/KARAKER. With new
people joining since Christmas maybe someone can shed a light on this line.
Daniel CARECTER was born in North Carolina or Georgia between 1784-1797.
His wife's name was Gemima ? I found them on the 1870 US Federal Census in
Lineville, Clay Co. Alabama with the spelling CHARACTER. The 1880 census
shows him to still be in Lineville living with his daughter Margaret Sue and
her husband Aaron M. DEWBERRY. The 1880 census has the name spelled
CARECTOR. Daniel and Gemima had 6 children:
Louisa b. abt 1840 GA
Margaret Sue b.abt 1840 GA m. Aaron M. Dewberry June 9, 1858 in Tallapoosa
Co.
AL (marriage records has name spelled KARAKER)
Giles b. abt 1843 GA
Wilson Lafayette b. Jan 9, 1852 AL m. Mary Jane MCClain
William W. b. abt 1859 AL
Sarah b. abt 1861 AL
With all the different spelling it is little wonder they are hard to find.
Any information on Daniel or any of his children would be greatly
appreciated.
Many thanks and have a great day!
