Hello everyone
I thought I would post some details on my ancestors in the hope someone may
have a connection or have some more info on them.
My ggmother Margaret CAPSTICK was born 1870, in the 1881 census the family
lived at Ewegales ,Dent, Yorkshire.
Edward CAPSTICK age 45yr was head of the household and is listed as Landed
Proprietor his wife Agnes CAPSTICK 44yr and children at home are Mary Jane
15yr Anne 13yr Margaret 11yr and Agnes 6yr.
In 1904 Margaret CAPSTICK married Thomas BENTHAM he was 45 and a farmer she
34 and was his housekeeper they lived at Blaithwaite ,Lawkland ( this is
where my father was born to Caroline in 1920).
Thomas BENTHAMs father John BENTHAM was a shoemaker deceased at the time of
the marriage.
The 1881 census shows John BENTHAM age 70yr Shoemaker living at Horton ,
Horton in Ribblesdale his wife is Sarah age 54yr and there Grandson John age
3yr , the same census shows
Thomas BENTHAM age 22 a farm servant at Brakenbottom, Horton in Ribblesdale.
I would love to hear from anyone who may have a connection or who has
details on Edward and Agnes marriage or Edwards parents.
Best Wishes
