I wrote the following to Janet, but now will ask my questions to the
members. Perhaps there is help for our problem after all. My reply to Janet was:
Do I need help!! My late husband and my children are descended from a
Zeuriah (spelled many ways apparently) Capron who married first Amasa Converse and
second Enoch White. We believe she was a great-great-granddaughter of Banfield
Capron, the line being Zeuriah 5, Jonathan 4, Jonathan 3, Jonathan 2,
Banfield 1. The information we have gleaned is Banfield and wife whose surname was
Callendar were parents of Jonathan born about 1705 who married Rebecca
Morse. They were parents of Jonathan Capron born March 10, 1732/3 who married Alice
Alden. Alice died about 1823 in Marshfield, Washington Co., Vermont.
Jonathan and Alice were parents of Jonathan Capron born Sept 5, 1755 in Needham,
Mass and died May 4, 1834 in Bridgwaer, Vt. This Jonathan (Jonathan the third)
was married to Lois Porter who died in Fitzwilliam, New hampshire in 1841.
Jonathan and Lois Porter Capron were parents of Zeuriah born April 16, 1781 in
Marlborough, New Hampshire and 10 other children.
As I say, we have just gleaned this information via the Capron genealogy and
internet sources. Zeuriah's son, from whom our line descended, went "West"
to
Iowa, and there were no family Bibles or anything to point us in the right
direction. Do you have information which might help?
Thanks so much. Merriel Coon
