Renee et al.
Finally got to my database. Here's what I found re. Capps/Boruff/Haynes. I
got this information from various sources including a photocopy of an old
Capps family Bible, information from a cousin and my father, and information
from others on the web. Where I have doubts you will note the use of
"possibly" or a question mark. Other than the Bible and a few old obits, I
have no written documentation as to most of its veracity.
Rowsa "Rosen" "Rozie" Boruff m. Joseph Morris "Joe" Capps 22
September 1887;
O.L. Boruff of Gulf Station, Houston City (3900 N. Broadway) or Fountain

1807 d. 4 Feb. 1877. According to Gene <ernest.fricks(a)stoneweb.com> Capps
family of Grainger Co. TN seem to have arrived about 1802 from Wilkes Co. NC.
Members spread from Grainger (or rather Grainger was broken up into) to
Claiborne and Campbell Cos. in the 1820s.
Minerva Jane Atkins b. 3 April 1836 to Lucinda "Lucy" Peak and Morris Atkins.
Siblings Scott, Samuel, Mary, Lucinda, Joseph.
Lucy Peak b. 1804 Roanoke Co. VA possibly daughter of Katie Wysor and George
Peck (Katie dau. of Adam Wysor, mother of Judy Peak. Adam resided in
Montgomery CO. VA.) (George Peck was father of Lucinda "Lucy" Peak, b. 1804,
and Judy Peak).
Morris Atkins b. Wythe Co. VA to Catherine and Stephen Atkins, may have died
1846 in Gasconade Co. Mo. about same time family moved there. Appears in 1840
census of Grainger Co., TN. May have moved to Lee Co. VA, for 2 years then
returned to TN and settled in Claiborn Co.
Catherine and Stephen Atkins had 3 sons, Stephen, Parker and Morris, all
settling in Gasconade Co., MO. Stephen Sr. died 1815 at Grainger Co., TN.
Catherine remarried to Robert Moore in 1817.
Stephen Sr. was b. in Grayson (Montgomery) Co. VA, father possibly Morris
Atkins. Stephen Sr. moved to Grainger Co. about 1804. Father may have been
another Morris (Maurice) according to Bill Longmire <otwito(a)mindspring.com>
per Goodspeed's History of East Tennessee. First mentioned Morris Atkins was
the son of Rachel Houchins and possibly Henry Atkins. Henry was possibly b.
in Goochland Co. VA to William Atkins(on) and Elizabeth Parker.

Beeler was b. 4 Aug. 1801 in TN to Catherine Petre and Joseph Beeler, or in
Beeler Chapel, Liberty Hill, PA, to Mary Gambol and John Beeler.
Clarifications, corrections and elaborations are welcome, cousins.
