Hi Shirley,
I am a direct descendent of Littleton Capps through his oldest Robert
Jackson Capps. Through which child are you a descendant?
Littleton was born 1801 in NC; married 12-May-1827 in Johnston County, NC,
to Zilphia A. PRICE; and died Jun-1879 in Johnston County, NC. He is
buried at Johnson Chapel, Johnston County, NC. I have visited Johnston
Chapel and would be glad to send you scanned photos of Littleton and
Zilphia's gravestones showing their birth and death dates. I also have
photographs of many of Littleton's children's tombstones.
I have spent several years trying to find the "missing link" between
Littleton and the Couper-Capps genealogy that was published in the 1950s.
Feel free to take a look at a summary of my research at:
http://users.firstva.com/diadem/capps.htm.
I would enjoy corresponding with you on this vexing problem.
