The first Capps in my line is my gr-grandmother, Beulah Ann Capps
b.1891,
in
Upshur County Tx. She married Litton Green Arnold. A couple of her siblings
married his siblings and they were all in Upshur County.
Her cemetery record states that her parents are Joseph Capps and Lucinda
Morgan. One census says that Lucinda was born in Arkansas. LDS site has
Joseph born in Little Rock, Pulaski County Arkansas and Lucinda married
to a
Hiram Winston Stracener,
I have two different Joseph Capps of an age that could be Beulah's father,
but no Lucinda Morgan which doesn't mean much since it could be a second
wife I have no record of my Capps are very sketchy. The patriarch (so far)
was a War of 1812 veteran named WIllis. My line spent a lot of time in
Tennessee, then Missouri, but some did wind up in Texas. My
great-grandmother was Mary Selene/Selena "Mollie" Capps, b. 29 April 1866
near the Union and Grainger county line in Grainger Co. TN. She married a
William Houston Boruff, who allegedly was mostly of Cherokee descent.
